Auto Maintenance FAQs

How often should I get my oil changed?
At Auto Plus we only use synthetic oil. We recommend you change your oil every 8000 Kilometers or 6 Months, whichever comes first.
Do you service Leased Vehicles?
Absolutely, many of our clients own leased vehicles, some out of warranty. Most dealerships charge a higher rate than independently owned shops like ours, which will save you money. Some customers prefer the transparency which comes from dealing with a shop like Auto Plus. We tell you the required repairs and let you know what your vehicle needs right away, and what you can wait on.
My car won't start, what do i do?
If your car won't start, there are several things you can do to diagnose the problem. First, check the battery. A dead battery is one of the most common reasons a car won't start. If the battery is not the issue, try turning on your headlights. If they turn on but your engine doesn't start, then a bad ignition switch is likely the culprit. If your engine isn't cranking when you turn the ignition, ensure that the car battery is charged and in working order. If you have jumper cables and a nearby motorist willing to help, jump-starting your car may be enough to get it started. Newer vehicles with push buttons instead of keys may need a signal from the remote or key fob to start. Try swapping out the fob's battery first. Then, if that doesn't work, follow the owner's manual instructions for starting without a key. If none of these solutions work and you're stranded on the road, calling roadside assistance and tow your car to us.
How do I know if I need new brakes?
There are several signs that indicate you may need new brakes. These include: • Squealing or clicking noises • Increased stopping distance • Grinding or rumbling sounds • A low brake fluid warning light on your dashboard If you notice any of these signs, give us a call immediately and book an appointment.
